Mod Description

With the recent release of ‘Lovestruck’, lots of people (myself included) have been excited to finally have an attraction system in the game!
What was not exciting was the limited options we had when it came to selecting physical Turn Ons and Turn Offs for our Sims.

*Please Note*: This mod is in no way intended to shame anyone for any physical features. This is to allow greater flexibility and diversity in the attraction system. All terminology used was never intended to offend and, with the help of my Discord server members, I’ve gone to great lengths to hopefully avoid upsetting anybody.
I do hereby apologise if any terms used do offend and I will be more than willing to hear from you with regard to changing any terms. Thank you!

You Will Need:
  • Custom Preferences by Zerbu ~ This is a requirement for all mods adding new categories to custom preferences and my Attraction Overhaul won’t work without it.
What Does It Do?

This mod adds up to 12 new categories to the Turn On/Turn Off selection in Create A Sim. These include the following:

  • Body Decoration ~ This includes Makeup, Facial Piercings, Earrings and Tattoos
  • Body Hair ~ This includes Arm Hair, Leg Hair, Back Hair and Chest Hair
  • Eye Colour ~ This includes Amber, Black, Blue, Brown, Grey, Green and Hazel eyes. The separate package for Unnatural eye colours also includes Red, Purple and Yellow eyes.
  • Facial Details ~ This includes Freckles, Glasses and Moles
  • Facial Hair ~ This includes Moustaches, Beards and Goatees
  • Figure ~ This includes (from small to large) Lean, Slim, Medium, Chubby and More to Love
  • Fitness ~ This includes (from small to large) Very Slight, Slight, Medium, Muscular and Very Muscular
  • Hair Length ~ This includes Bald, Long Hair, Medium Hair and Short Hair.
  • Movie Genres ~ This includes Action, Comedy, Family, Horror and Romance movies.
  • Occults ~ This includes Aliens, Fairies*, Ghosts, Mermaids, PlantSims, Servos, Spellcaster, Vampires and Werewolves
  • Outfit Category ~ This included Everyday, Formal, Sleepwear, Athletic, Party, Swimwear, Hot Weather and Cold Weather outfits.
  • Scars ~ This includes Body Scars and Facial Scars

*The fairies are from SpinningPlumbob’s Fairies vs Witches mod.

Selecting any of these as a Turn On/Turn Off will impact a Sim’s attraction level to another Sim when they first meet.

The mod also edits the interaction to Ask About Physical Attraction and allows it to recognise all of the custom Turn Ons/Turn Offs in this mod. It also edits the Ask About Personality Attraction to allow it to recognise the Movie Genres. So that package is only required if you’re using the Movie Genre package at this time.

The mod also tweaks the attraction values to provide a little more variety in attractions towards other Sims. It also adds two new values, Extremely Attracted and Extremely Unattracted.

Compatibility

~ No compatibility issues. If you’re using Lumpinou’s new mods for Lovestruck (particularly Mod #4), then you are unlikely to need the Ask About Physical Attraction package since her mod effectively does this in a new interaction.
~ If you’re using any of the Attraction files from my More Colourful Icons, then don’t use the CORE file from the attraction overhaul; the same changes have been made to the threshold in those mods.

The Technical Details

This mod requires Lovestruck and will be pointless without it.
These are all fully compatible with the randomization. This has been tested in my own game with all 12 categories and has no issues. All categories are also considered when the game randomises Turn Ons/Turn Offs for NPC Sims.
The overhaul is modular and you can pick and choose which categories you want to install. There is also a zip file which contains all 12 categories.
The AttractionOverhaul_UnnaturalEyes zip file contains all the same files as the main but replaces the Eye Colour package with the Unnatural Eyes one.
ONLY USE 1 PACKAGE FOR EYE COLOUR. Both contain all the regular eye colours; the Unnatural Eyes one also has the three additional colours.
Below are images to show the options within each category, although they are also listed above.

    with that, I am Running into an error with this specific mod. Every time I play, it keeps getting scanned as broken. I was wondering if any other user has had this issue and how they resolved it.

  6. Hi! I love this mod. Thanks for making it! It lacked many things, but only so far. Is there a chance that a Fashion Choices category will be included? Whether or not you like casual, costume, swimwear, sports, etc. styles? That would be great.

  7. This is a great addition to the attraction system! Is it possible to add things like fame, already has children, vegetarian trait, owns cat, dog or horse, age (YA, Adult or Elder)?

  11. I love this mod, so helpful for making more customisable sims!

    Would it be possible to expand the fashion turn ons? At the moment we can pick fashion colours and styles but we can’t choose clothing types like Sleepwear and Swimwear which seems kind of silly as those are big attractions for lots of people.

  12. I don’t know if im doing something wrong but ive tried multiple times and the new preference catefories aren’t showing up for me 😦 im so excited too. And I’m an experienced mod player so idk what im doing wrong. I downloaded the mod, extracted the file and now the “MissyHissy Attraction Overhaul” folder is sitting in my mods folder, and all the individual files are inside of it. Please help! I also tried taking the individual files and placing them directly into my mods folder and that also didn’t work.

    I have quite a few of your other mods and have never had this problem 😦

      1. I am actually having the exact same problem, even though I do have Zerbu’s mod installed. Other custom preferences from other mods that also use Zerbu’s seem to show up in CAS fine, but for some reason this one doesn’t 😦 Is it possible there are other conflicts?

      2. Do you have a CORE file from this mod? If so, delete it because it’ll conflict with Zerbu’s.
        Make sure you have the very latest version of Zerbu’s mod as well 🙂

      3. Thank you for your prompt reply! I double-checked and I do have the latest version of Zerbu’s mod, but there is a CORE file included with JaneSimsten’s Secret Occults (which also uses Zerbu’s mod), so I’m thinking that may be the culprit here :/

        Also double check you haven’t got Zerbu’s old Unlimited Likes and Dislikes, since that also conflicts with his custom preferences!

  13. Thank you soo much! Would you ever consider making a version that removes the “Fashion” and “Colors” turn ons, or maybe somehow make yours override those ones in the menu

        When Turbodriver updates WonderfulWhims (and/or Wicked), do you think this mod will conflict with his mod’s attraction preferences? If so, you planning to make it compatible with WW?

      2. No problem. I’ll let you know what Zerbu says but I imagine he’s probably planning to anyway!

        They shouldn’t conflict, owing to the fact they’ll all be impacting the same system. There will most likely be similarities but they should conflict.
        Mostly, I’ll have to wait until it is updated to see what Turbo does and how his will work post-update.

      1. Hi again 🙂 I have what may be an odd q re: the eye colors. If I mostly use CC eyecolors, will the game be able to pick up what color they are? Or will they not fall under any of the eye color categories in that case?

      2. They will if they’re tagged correctly, yes. If you tell me which CC eyes you use, I can double check for you but I imagine they’ll be tagged just fine.
