Gossip About Neighbourhood Stories

~ Watching News on TV will now generate a Neighbourhood Stories notification.
~ Added an alternative version where checking social media timelines and watching the news will generate 3 notifications and gossip will generate 1.

I’ve been a fan of the Neighbourhood Stories idea since the first blog post about it. The latest patch added a lovely range of new features, including the ability to Check On Recent Stories from the mailbox.

I like stuff like this to be a little more gameplay-oriented, so I tweaked it. I added the notifications about the stories to several interactions in game:

Gossip

Gossip About Neighbors (This interaction shows up on Sims living in the same neighbourhood)

Discuss Neighborhood Changes (This interaction shows up on Sims living in the same neighbourhood)

Check Social Media Timeline

Watch News

So now each time you perform these interactions, you’ll get notified about something that’s changed in the game.

This mod is Base Game Compatible and does require that you be patched up to 1.85. This mod edits the following XMLs:

There are TWO versions; choose only one.
The standard version contains the changes above.
The ‘Variable Notifications’ version enables 3 notifications for Watch TV and Check Social Media Timeline and all the gossip interactions have 1 notification.
If you use the More Neighborhood Stories Notifications mod, I recommend sticking with the standard version.
