Archaeology Career

Another career recreation for you today. The Archaeology Career was one of my favourites to work on for Sims 3 and I really enjoyed working on it for Sims 4.

Changelog:
28th January 2024 ~ Package name has changed so delete the old version first!
~ Added Dutch translation.

 You Will Need:

  • Scumbumbo’s XML Injector ~ This allows the career to not need its own script file. The XML Injector loads the script for Paid Time Off and for the custom interactions. Don’t worry; the XML Injector doesn’t add anything to your game, it just allows this mod to work as intended.
  • Zer0’s Custom Degrees ~ If you’re using the CustomDegree version of this career, you will need Zer0’s custom degrees for the Archaeology Degree. These are so brilliant that I’d highly recommend you grab them!

Technical Details:

The career has 10 levels and no additional branching. There are 10 work from home assignments available should you wish to use them and there are no daily tasks.
There are uniforms for all ten levels!

If your sim wants to progress beyond Level 2 of the Archaeology career, they’re going to need a History degree! However, if they aspire to reach the very top of the career, they will need a Distinguished History degree!
In the CustomDegree version, Sims will require a degree in either History OR Archaeology. This version does require Zero’s Custom Degrees.

The career requires Discover University and Jungle Adventure.
At each level, Sims gain their progress towards vacation days a little faster (default value is 0.2; I’ve set it to 0.4). The reason I’ve done this is because an archaeologist Sim will need to travel to Selvadorada a lot, so I felt it fair that they can gain vacation days a little faster.

    1. If you open the career up in Sims 4 Studio, you can find the text file in there. What language do you play your game in? Whichever it is, you can translate that file into Turkish 🙂
