Science Hobby

The wonders of science are very appealing to some Sims. Studying the stars and planets, practicing or making medicine, will get them even more enthusiastic about it. Sims who have high logic will be more enthusiastic about science.

Enthusiasm

Once Sims have gained the Science Hobby, they’ll have a hidden need to perform scientific activities. Since this is similar to Sims 2’s Hobby Enthusiasm, that’s what I’m referring to.
This isn’t visible in the User Interface. However, you’ll receive a notification when your Sim’s hobby enthusiasm is low. Don’t worry; this takes 3 days to drop to this level if your Sim does nothing related to Science in that time.

Autonomy

Sims with the Science Hobby Trait will be more likely to do scientific activities autonomously. All of these activities will boost a Sim’s hobby enthusiasm. These activities include, but are not exclusive to:
Use Chemistry Table
Use Telescope
Use Observatory
Use Microscope
Use Rocketship
Use Chemistry Lab (Get To Work)
Stargaze (Outdoor Retreat)
Play Doctor (Parenthood)
Science School Projects (Parenthood)

New Interactions
I’ve created a handful of new interactions that are unique to Sims with the Science Hobby.

Blog About Science ~ Any Sim can blog about their love for Science. If you have adeepindigo’s Blogging Hobby mod, then Sims will also gain followers when they post. Additionally, these posts will count towards the total number of blog posts for the aspiration in that mod.
Browse Web About Science ~ Sims can browse the web for ideas about Science and will gain a moodlet when they’re done.
Write Science Article ~ Sims can write an article to submit to a publication about Science. When they’ve finished writing it, they can submit it and if it’s a good article and gets published, Sims may gain some fame (if Get Famous is installed).
Talk About Science Hobby ~ Sims who share a hobby with be able to talk about it with each other. This will give a tiny boost to their enthusiasm.

Social Compatibility

With Version 3.3 of the mod, the Science Hobby is classed under Cerebral Sims and will count towards your Sim’s compatibility with them.

Wants

As always with my mods, the Science hobby has a large list of wants attached to it. Many of these are already in-game but some have been created by me and are either a part of The Custom Wants Mod, or included in The Hobby Mod. Below is a list of the wants you can expect to see during gameplay.
