Mod Updates

24th July 2024
Autonomous Call Off Wedding Enabled For Wedding Events ~ This is repurposed now to enable autonomy for Maxis’ new interaction.
The Hopes & Fears Mod ~ Updated for the patch, as well as a few other fixes.

So I’m early in testing but so far, all looks good. No errors as yet and most things working as intended. This is not a guaranteed clearance yet but it’s looking fairly okay right now. As usual, a few notes:

:redplumbob: My “Call Off Wedding Enabled For Wedding Events” mod is indeed obsolete! However I am repurposing the mod slightly to make Maxis’ new interaction autonomous (using the same parameters as my custom one). Now Updated!
:orangeplumbob: The following mods will be updated for Lovestruck on Friday but are perfectly okay to use right now:
~ The Custom Wants Mod
~ The Hobby Mod
~ The Personality Mod
:yellowplumbob: The Hopes & Fears Mod will need a little update so while I’d intended to hold off on that for Friday, I’ll go ahead and update for the patch first. So this will receive 2 updates this week. (Updated)
:greenplumbob: As for the rest of the mods, everything so far seems okay. My lot traits still have some tuning errors but they’re not essential so nothing to worry about.

Updates will be posted tomorrow when I’ve had time to do a full assessment.

NEW MOD: Parenthood Discipline For High School Years

Mod Status ~ Patch 1.107

So some good news and some bad news.

The good news is, my mods all seem to be fine with the latest patch. As always, let me know if you encounter any issues playing. You can let me know either in the comments here on on Discord (link at the top of the page).

The bad news is that most of my icons for my mods aren’t working if you opt into the DX11 update. Hopefully, an update to Sims 4 Studio and reimporting my icons is all that’s needed, however I may need to re-do quite a few of my icons.

In a nutshell, if you want to keep using my mods (until I can get a fix in place), then I’d suggest staying with DX9. However, if you prioritise smoother gameplay (and who can blame you!), then I’d recommend removing my mods until further notice.

Hopefully, I’ll know more in a few days and will update everyone then. Thank you and happy Simming!

The Archive

Hi all!

About My Stories:
So starting with some good news. After a lot of work, the old Daily Plumbob stories are now archived safely in their new home. I had an empty blog doing nothing and it’s now become the archive for the old stories. You can find them here and by using the link at the top of the page.

So now they’re safely stored over there, the stories will be removed from here. This is because of storage; I only have a set amount of storage for media files (pictures, videos etc) and I want to free up the space for the new stories. So over the next few days, the old stories will disappear from this website but they’ll permanently stay on the archive site.

Once the old stories are deleted from here, you’ll start to see some new stuff appearing in preparation of the new story (the first post is ready to be written!). So that’s good news if you enjoy my slightly crazy gameplay!

About My Mods:
I’ve given them a quick look and they seem fine with the latest patch (Patch 1.102). I do have a couple of updates ready for a couple of my mods so I’m hoping to get them out soon(ish).

The Hobby Mod is having a peculiar issue at the moment regarding the Toddler Tablet and reading to toddlers. I’m still trying to get to the root of the issue but if you’re experiencing this, please come and let me know on Discord (link at the top of the page).

The Future of The Daily Plumbob (Stories)

Don’t worry – the mods aren’t going anywhere.

Sadly, my laptop died this week and it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to save anything from it. It means The Daily Plumbob save file and screenshots are gone for good. Unfortunately, so are all my in-progress mod files.

As a result, I’ll be taking a short break from the modding while I get everything organised. Hopefully, I’ll be back to modding in a month or so.

The stories, however, are gone. So in a few days, I’ll be archiving the stories, profiles etc. You’ll still be able to view them.
HOWEVER I will be starting a brand new save for The Daily Plumbob; new Sims, new builds etc and will instead be sharing that here.

So while I will be quiet for a while, don’t worry; I’ll be back! But the mods are not going anywhere.

Patch Day Updates ~ Patch 1.96

This is the update post for the Infants patch. This gives the initial status of the mods and will be updated as things change.
After early testing, it seems like everything is working okay; a few minor corrections for careers, lot traits and holiday traditions but nothing critical.
Further testing may reveal issues, so this post will be updated to reflect any changes.
