Nature Hobby

Nature is one of the great mysteries in life. Interacting with animals like fish, birds or bugs will increase your Sim’s enthusiasm for nature as will going for hikes, gardening or camping.

Enthusiasm

Once Sims have gained the Nature Hobby, they’ll have a hidden need to perform nature-related activities. Since this is similar to Sims 2’s Hobby Enthusiasm, that’s what I’m referring to.
This isn’t visible in the User Interface. However, you’ll receive a notification when your Sim’s hobby enthusiasm is low. Don’t worry; this takes 3 days to drop to this level if your Sim does nothing related to Nature in that time.

Autonomy

Sims with the Nature Hobby Trait will be more likely to do artistic activities autonomously. All of these activities will boost a Sim’s hobby enthusiasm. These activities include, but are not exclusive to:
Gardening
Fishing
Camping (Outdoor Retreat)
Herbalism (Outdoor Retreat)
Playing in Snow (Seasons)
Raking Leaves (Seasons)
Interacting With Bees (Seasons)
Interacting With Denizen Pond (Get Famous)
Interacting With Dolphins (Island Living)
Beachcombing (Island Living)
Cleaning Up Sulani (Island Living)
Interacting With Insect Farm (Eco Lifestyle)

New Interactions
I’ve created a handful of new interactions that are unique to Sims with the Nature Hobby.

Blog About Nature ~ Any Sim can blog about their love for Nature. If you have adeepindigo’s Blogging Hobby mod, then Sims will also gain followers when they post. Additionally, these posts will count towards the total number of blog posts for the aspiration in that mod.
Browse Web About Nature ~ Sims can browse the web for ideas about Nature and will gain a moodlet when they’re done.
Write Nature Article ~ Sims can write an article to submit to a publication about Nature. When they’ve finished writing it, they can submit it and if it’s a good article and gets published, Sims may gain some fame (if Get Famous is installed).
Talk About Nature Hobby ~ Sims who share a hobby with be able to talk about it with each other. This will give a tiny boost to their enthusiasm.

Social Compatibility

With Version 3.3 of the mod, the Nature Hobby is classed under Nature Enthusiast Sims and will count towards your Sim’s compatibility with them.

As always with my mods, the Nature hobby has a large list of wants attached to it. Many of these are already in-game but some have been created by me and are either a part of The Custom Wants Mod, or included in The Hobby Mod. Below is a list of the wants you can expect to see during gameplay.
