I love playing a want-based game and, with the popularity of The Personality Mod, I wanted to be able to work more with custom wants and try and add some new direction to them in a series of manageable mods. Additionally, I want other modders to be able to make use of these wants for their own mods. So this is the Custom Wants Mod!
- Lot51’s Core Library ~ It doesn’t add anything to the game, it just allows the mod to work as intended. This is essential.
The wants in this mod have been split off from The Personality Mod and now have their own package. This mod now will have new wants added to it often to fit in with some of my other mods.
The wants on their own won’t do anything in game; you need mods that add custom whimsets using these wants installed for them to show up. This mod literally just contains custom wants; it’s whimsets that cause the wants to show. Mods that use these wants in their whimsets include:
The mod is Base Game Compatible. Wants created for packs you don’t own will not appear.
This mod has a .script file! This has one script file: Rex_MissyHissyCustomWhims.ts4script.
This file should be placed no deeper than one subfolder, or else the game won’t read it. This will cause LE or BE errors, often related to University wants.

Hello! I’ve been looking for a replacement for Sims4me’s Whims Overhaul mod because it’s been causing LE errors. When using her mod, I discovered that she included wants to buy reward store traits that fit with my sim’s personality (ex. lazy = professional slacker). I absolutely loved that aspect and how it affected my gameplay. I was wondering if you’ve added anything similar, or if not, maybe you would consider adding something similar for your mods in the future.

Hi hello! 😀 I was wondering why my WHIMS atm give so low reward points. I’m trying to read carefully through your post and scripts but I am unsure if this is intended or perhaps some other mod is going into conflict? Most of them give me 5 points, and it makes it harder to get those aspiration rewards.
Nonetheless thank you so much for your mods, without them this game rly is just unplayable for me ^^

Yes, this is intentional. They’re more in line with the type of want, so low-level ones will grant 5 points but the higher ones would grant 200. 🙂

Hello, I just discovered your mod and I love it, but I don’t know if you know of an old mod where you could cancel wishes with a right click? I can’t find it again. If anyone knows which mod I’m talking about, that would be cool. Thanks in advance and thanks again for your mod, I can’t live without it anymore.

Try UI Cheats Extension; I use it all the time to reroll or complete wants!

Hello, I am experiencing an error when trying to save, I have narrowed it down to this mod, used only alongside the Better Exceptions mod. After asking about romantic boundaries and then asking to change boundaries, trying to save will result in “The game failed to save. Error Code: 401:e68.5036:41c5328e”
Not sure if those interactions have anything to do with the mod or it is coincidence.

Have you got the latest version? Version 2.8.1. This version fixes the error you’re having (mentioned in the Changelog). So delete the old version, grab the latest and the issue should go away! 🙂

I play Sims very heavily focused on wants, and this mod is practically the exact thing I needed to make the game interesting again, I love it!!
The only issue I still have is that my Sims keep entering the cycle of having the same very basic relationship wants towards other sims, like ask how their day was, watch clouds/stars, say something nice, or just chat (all from the base game). I wonder if the mod includes other relationship wants, since my married couple is stuck on those same interactions over and over again and never want to kiss or do more interesting things together. Or have some wants with their infant or dog, which I haven’t seen any yet. Maybe I just haven’t played enough, but I’m only seeing those.

I’m planning on overhauling these relationship wants because I’m experiencing the same in my game and it’s boring LOL.
A lot of the pet wants were abandoned by Maxis. Do you have my Hopes & Fears mod by any chance? I’ve overhauled a lot of the existing wants there, so that can help in the meantime, although it doesn’t do much for the relationships yet.
I do have plans to expand on these kinds of wants after the release of Lovestruck later this month! Thank you!

Hi! This mod is broken, because its caused LE Exception from MC Command center and as well from Twisted Mexi’s Better Exception. And both of the mods telling me that this mod is 100% broken

The mod is not ‘broken’. There might be a typo that’s being picked up. LE from MCCC and BE do not automatically mean a mod is broken.

I really enjoy this mod, thank you so much for making it! Would also love to have included even more of the well-loved Sims 2 wants, especially relationship related (both romantic and friendship), and would love it if sims with romance based aspirations frequently wanted to flirt with/kiss/woohoo with [sim]. Really missing Sims 2 gameplay at the moment!
